WELCOME, HAMILTON!
#TIMEMATTERS

Known for its innovative designs, Hamilton watches combine American spirit with the unrivalled precision of the latest Swiss movements and technologies. Founded in 1892, the brand’s rich heritage includes railroad, aviation and military roots, as well as strong American designs.

A true pioneer, Hamilton has been a key player in the watch industry by introducing new technologies: the world’s first electric watch – the Ventura, in 1957 – and the world’s first LED digital watch – the Pulsar, in 1970.

Hamilton has a strong foothold in Hollywood, with products appearing in more than 450 films. The brand also boasts a strong aviation heritage dating back to 1918 and continued today by the strong partnership as official timekeeper of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship.

And now, Hamilton watches are available in Atlantic Canada, exclusively at Diamond Design.

Known for their innovative design, we are both proud and delighted to offer these cutting edge timepieces in our showroom. To celebrate, we asked our Watch Specialist Paul to compile 10 of his favourite selections (not an easy job!). Find them below, and please contact Paul at paul@diamonddesign.com or 754-9497 to learn more – or better still pop in to see them up close!

1) VENTURA

ELVIS80 AUTO

Dressed in an ultra-modern outfit, the Hamilton Ventura Elvis80 is full of energy to pay tribute to Elvis Presley, who would have turned 80 on January 8, 2015. The iconic Ventura, with its striking, shield-shaped case, co-starred with the king of rock and roll in the 1961 movie “Blue Hawaii”. The 2015 interpretation of what commonly became known as “the Elvis watch” has mastered major technical and material challenges to enter a new design era. Confirming the focus on the future, the automatic model is powered by Hamilton’s own H-10 movement, integrating a power reserve of 80 hours.

2) AMERICAN CLASSIC

INTRA-MATIC 68 AUTOCHRONO

Sure to delight Hamilton aficionados and collectors alike, the Intra-Matic 68 Auto Chrono emulates that of its illustrious inspiration with vintage-feel pushers placed on each side of the crown and the same solid stainless steel case back. This overall retro character and sense of heritage is further accentuated by a domed-shape dial and curved hands.

3) JAZZMASTER

VIEWMATIC SKELETON LADY AUTO

The H-20-S Hamilton automatic movement echoes the skeletonization theme, uniting proven craftsmanship with relentless accuracy. Contemporary decoration, ranging from brushed, skeletonized rotors to an intricate ‘H’-pattern on individual elements, add a sense of theater to traditional precision timekeeping. The wearer “audience” participates in this show directly thanks to generously dimensioned openings displaying components such as the escapement, hairspring and barrel zealously at work.

4) JAZZMASTER

OPEN HEART AUTO

The design of the Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart turns timekeeping into something of a tease. A glance at the face of the watch reveals part of the Swiss automatic movement in action – but not all of it. Some things can be left to the imagination – especially when they are clothed in sumptuous quality materials and fine design detail.

5) KHAKI FIELD

DAY DATE AUTO

The Khaki Field Day Date blends the rugged nature of the Khaki line with the proven craftsmanship expressed in its exclusive H-30 caliber with its typical 80 hours power reserve.

6) KHAKI AVIATION

X-WIND AUTO CHRONO

The Khaki X-Wind Automatic is the world’s first drift-angle calculator in a watch, enabling pilots to accurately calculate and record the crosswinds they will encounter on their planned journey. And for those needing to navigate their way through life on the ground, this Hamilton timepiece is also the perfect co-pilot. The stylish, rugged look of this innovative Chronograph is sure to turn heads, while its accuracy and function ensure a smooth flight.

7) KHAKI AVIATION

PILOT DAY DATE AUTO

The Khaki Pilot gives the wearer the feel of an early American pilot with its classic aviator design. It features a large, easy to read dial, day and date function, and Super-LumiNova® hands. The Khaki Pilot is an essential piece of form and function for any pilot.

8) KHAKI NAVY

KHAKI NAVY FROGMAN AUTO

Created for the US naval “frogmen” teams and featured in the 1951 smash-hit movie The Frogmen, this new diver watch is clearly built to meet the high demands of its underwater vocation. The 46mm titanium case version features a red aluminum unidirectional rotating bezel and is water-resistant up to 100 bar / 1000 meters. The 42mm stainless steel case versions are available in blue or black color combinations.

9) KHAKI NAVY

PIONEER AUTO CHRONO

This finely crafted classical watch was inspired by the marine chronometers produced by Hamilton in the 1940s. An up-to-the-minute H-21 movement provides today’s timepiece with 60 hours of power reserve. Flamed blue hands are indicative of the brand’s long watchmaking heritage.

10) AMERICAN CLASSIC

INTRA-MATIC AUTO

Paying a proud tribute to a Hamilton best seller from days gone by, the new timepiece makes an elegant statement through the purity of its design. The black or silver-colored dial is domed and plays host to two lightly curved hands, an expression of the quintessential character of Hamilton watchmaking.
