When we announced that Diamond Design would become one of 4 Canadian retailers to carry John Hardy jewellery, we knew that there would be lots of excitement to now have this internationally-coveted brand available in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Of course we knew that John Hardy jewellery is stunning, a perfect addition to our existing collection of beautifully designed pieces from around the world.
And we knew that Sooley Designs offers highly-sought and beautiful fashions that are quickly becoming a staple in the closets of our province’s most fashion forward.
But even we were surprised with the outpouring of excitement this past weekend, as we launched our new John Hardy collection with our biggest show yet. With hundreds of die-hard Sooley Designs and John Hardy fans joining us, plus hundreds more curious to learn about these brands, we hosted two brilliant days of brilliant fashion, with and for some brilliant people!
Friday night was our big Launch Party and Fashion Show, where, for the first time, we took over two levels of Terrace on the Square. Downstairs, our showroom was a-buzz with hundreds of John Hardy pieces, and just as many people oohing, aahing, and trying them on.
Many thanks to The Beverage Baron for supplying complimentary beverages for all our guests at our party. The Beverage Baron represents some of the world’s finest wines, beers and spirits, and they were a lovely partner to have on board.
Upstairs was the main event of the evening – our John Hardy Fashion Show featuring Sooley Designs. From fashionistas to fashion bloggers and everyone in between, we were all treated to an exclusive runway, featuring looks from these top designers. Fresh, modern and unique, John Hardy and Sooley Designs turned out to be a match made in fashion heaven.
Megan Sooley of Sooley Designs and her team put an enormous amount of work into making the fashion show fabulous, and we’re so glad they collaborated with us. The 60 fashions modeled were absolutely gorgeous and on-point, and it was our pleasure to work with this growing local company.
And while of course the models were all gorgeous, too, they were made even more so by our neighbours and premier partners, Hair Factory. One of the top salons in the city, we were so grateful to have them on board. With all proceeds going to the Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, it was a great night.
The Launch Party and Fashion Show alone would have made for a fabulous weekend, but we knew that after seeing so much showstopping jewellery and clothing on the runway, everyone would want to see it up close and personal, too.
That’s why we followed the party with a Trunk Show, all day Saturday. John Hardy representatives from New York flew in with 350 limited and hard-to-find pieces, and Megan returned with her 60 fashions from the night before. It turned out to be an incredibly fun day that we hope to repeat soon.
If you’d like to make sure you hear about upcoming events at Diamond Design, please signup for our newsletter here, and be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram. We’d like to thank Sooley Designs, Hair Factory and The Beverage Baron once again for all their hard work and cooperation, and a big thanks to our photographer, Greg Locke, of Greg Locke Photo, for all these lovely shots.
And a big thanks as well to everyone who came out to spend some time with us this weekend. If you’d like to see a selection of John Hardy pieces currently in store, please see here, and please stay tuned for the next event!
